Brass In The Park
2009 Event Information

Brass in the Park 2009 will take place on Friday 4, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2009. The venue will be Newtongrange Park, Main Street, Newtongrange, Midlothian.

Our 2009 event has been selected to form part of the Homecoming Scotland programme of events supported by the Scottish Government through Eventscotland and will be the flagship event for Midlothian’s contribution to Homecoming. As a result, it is anticipated that Brass in the Park will be the largest public event taking place in Midlothian in 2009.

Our 2009 event is being planned as a celebration of the culture and traditions of Midlothian’s towns and village. Brass in the Park in 2009 will celebrate the local Galas and festivals, the brass and pipe bands and the junior football clubs which have for long been a source of pride and a means of establishing and retaining separate identities for Midlothian’s various communities. The programme will feature these various bodies and their activities.

New events for 2009 including a Local History Fair, a Craft Fair and sporting competitions join established favourites such as the brass band contests, the Sunday Praise in Brass Concert and the spectacular massed band finale. Great entertainment for all the family is guaranteed.

Tickets are now on sale for Brass in the Park 2009.
